Every educational decision we make flows from deeply held biblical convictions. This page provides a closer look at our educational philosophy, why we embrace classical education, and how our hybrid co-op model partners with families to disciple and educate children.
Vision Statement
For His Glory is a classically driven hybrid co-op with Charlotte Mason inclusion that focuses on helping children learn to think for themselves and ultimately value the process of learning. We seek to uphold the classical model by providing rich materials and age-appropriate tools so that they are equipped to cultivate their knowledge and understanding of the world around them and, primarily, to mature in their walk with the Lord, develop a Biblical worldview, and confidently defend their faith.
We are not a learning community with enrichment classes, rather we hope to partner with like-minded homeschooling families who want to learn together by introducing or reviewing new concepts in the core subjects, and then uphold the same level of rigor throughout the rest of the week at home. Our goal is to provide families with a curriculum to follow, accountability, and a support system that will help their individual families, as well as our co-op community as a whole, to thrive.
At FHG, we combine the best elements of Classical Education and the Charlotte Mason philosophy to create a rich, engaging learning environment that nurtures both the mind and the heart.
Why We Love Classical Education
Classical education focuses on teaching students how to think, not just what to think. Through great books, meaningful discussions, logic, writing, and a thorough study of history, students learn to reason well, communicate clearly, and develop wisdom. Grounded in a biblical worldview, students are taught to evaluate ideas in light of Scripture and recognize God’s hand in every area of life and learning.
In our classes, students are encouraged to:
- Think critically and ask thoughtful questions
- Make connections across subjects
- Develop strong communication and writing skills
- Pursue truth, goodness, and beauty
- Build a biblical worldview
Our goal is not simply academic achievement, but the formation of wise and virtuous young adults who are prepared to serve God and others.
What is a hybrid co-op?
Many homeschool co-ops function primarily as enrichment programs, offering classes such as art, crafts, STEM activities, or electives that supplement a student’s education. While these experiences can be valuable, they are typically not the core of a student’s academic program.
Our hybrid co-op takes a different approach.
We work together as a learning community, with families following a common curriculum and educational philosophy. Students attend classes where teachers introduce new concepts, facilitate discussions, provide accountability, and offer instruction in key subjects. The majority of the coursework, reading, writing, and practice is then completed at home under the guidance of parents.
This model provides:
- Academic consistency across families
- Accountability and encouragement from teachers
- Meaningful class discussions and collaboration
- A strong community of learners
- Parent involvement in the educational process
- A cohesive Christian worldview integrated throughout the curriculum
We are a Christian classical hybrid co-op where classes serve as a tutorial and accountability model—introducing concepts, discussing ideas, practicing skills, and building community—while the primary learning still happens at home. We provide a social learning environment for parents seeking more structure and academic rigor than a typical enrichment co-op provides.
