Membership Guidlines

Joining For His Glory Classical Learning Community means becoming part of a Christ-centered community where families partner together to provide a rich Classical Christian education. Our membership guidelines are designed to foster a culture of faith, service, accountability, and meaningful relationships while supporting parents as the primary educators of their children.

Our Membership Philosophy

At FHG, we believe education is most effective when families, teachers, and students work together with a shared commitment to Christ. Every member family contributes to the strength of our community by serving, encouraging one another, and helping create an environment where children can grow in wisdom, knowledge, and character.

1. The family must agree with the Statement of Faith, the teaching parent must sign it.
2.  Current co-op members will receive first consideration for continued membership and must complete an updated application along with a $50 non-refundable deposit by March 31^st to secure their spot.  
3.   New members may be added prior to the beginning of a new school year, after a thorough application process, if space becomes available to accommodate their entire family. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required within 14 days of acceptance.
4.  At least one parent will share his/her gifts and talents through teaching, co-teaching, or assisting each week to complement the program.
5. At least one parent will share his/her gifts and talents by serving on a committee to enhance the program’s relational, community, and educational aspects.
6. The membership fee to join FHG is $275 per family, plus class fees and individual curriculum costs.
7.  Both parents have read the FHG Handbook and submitted the signature page prior to the first day of the school year.
8.  Failure to abide by any part of the FHG Family Handbook could result in the revocation of membership.

FHG Committees:

As a cooperative community, each member family serves on a committee. Committees help build relationships, create meaningful connections beyond weekly classes, and provide opportunities to serve both our co-op and the broader community. Whenever possible, we encourage families to serve in areas that align with the unique gifts, talents, and passions God has given them. By serving together, we strengthen our community while modeling Christ-centered service for our children.

Field Trip Planning Committee: This committee plans the field trips for our co-op by securing the best group rates and coordinating when/where we’ll go. These experiences should match our curricula as closely as possible! We already have a list of great ideas!! 

Party Planning Committee: This committee is responsible for planning all our parties and celebrations! 

Service Project Planning Committee: This committee plans routine service projects for FHG to participate in. Ideally, we serve at the same place 4-6 times during the school year. Your role is to facilitate a relationship with an organization and coordinate how we can serve! 

Care Committee: This committee helps our co-op members by offering prayer, setting up meal calendars, sending cards (sympathy, congrats, new baby…), coordinating childcare, etc. If a need arises, you would be part of the team that helps us show love and support to members of our group! 

Parents’ Night Out Planning Committee: This committee plans occasional get-togethers for our group’s moms and dads. Some ideas include game nights, pickleball, dinner out, nights of prayer… anything goes! These outings are a way for us to bond outside of educating our children, so we can “let our hair down” and just enjoy hanging out! 

Park Day Planning Committee: This committee plans weekly park days for our co-op during the warmer months. Park days are on Tuesdays from 2-4pm, and in the winter, we go to SkateWorld of Vandalia for homeschool skate instead of a park.  

Party Planning Committee: This committee is in charge of planning all of our holiday parties and celebrations! 

Middle School and High School Event Committees: Plans and coordinates social events, activities, and service opportunities for middle school students, helping them build friendships, strengthen community, and connect with their peers outside of weekly co-op classes.
